2002 - Launch of the ACE
On the occasion of its annual press conference on February 22nd, the Alpine Initiative launched the idea of rationing heavy goods traffic by means of an Alpine Crossing Exchange. The launch, at which experts were invited to speak about the actual implementation of an ACE, was quite successful. The idea was presented both at a national and an international level and met with great interest.
