October 2006 - Transport ministers decide to commission international study
Transport ministers from the six Alpine countries, known as the “Group of Zurich”, met in Lyon. They decided to come up with new solutions to the Alpine transit issue. A joint study is to demonstrate the possibilities and conditions of an ACE for transalpine road freight. Austria will take over the rotating presidency from France for 2007/2008.
