The second study mandated by the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE), the Federal Roads Authority (FEDRO) and the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) has now been published. It shows that an Alpine Crossing Exchange is technologically, operationally and organisationally feasible.
The first study of the Alpine Crossing Exchange concludes that it is "a realistic, efficient and effective instrument of transport policy. As a market-based tool, it provides incentives for an optimum use of infrastructure, generates valuable information and ensures that the aspired goals are attained in a cost-effective manner."
